Wearing glasses since she was 11, Brid noticed her eyesight deteriorating further and further in recent years. Forced to rely on her glasses throughout the entire day, she eventually decided to partially switch to contact lenses due to her active lifestyle, but grew increasingly frustrated with their upkeep and the way they left her eyes feeling dry and irritated.

Eager to find an alternative vision correction solution that would rid her of the constant hassle and inconvenience, she started looking into laser eye surgery at Optical Express and booked in for a free consultation.

“I found especially around bedtime, going to sleep with contacts, trying to poke your eye just before going to bed, it’s not a very nice experience. Sometimes they get stuck and when you wore them a bit too long your eyes would get very dry and you would have headaches. It got to the point where I felt I had to do something about it,” she explains.

Having now received treatment, she is excited to start exploring the outdoors with her new-found visual freedom, commenting that it feels like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders: “I really want to go camping and do more outdoor things, because before you always had to be thinking ‘Oh I have to bring my contact solution and I have to have clean hands’. Now that I don’t have to worry about that sort of thing anymore, I can actually go out and explore the outdoors.”
