Police Officer, Laser Eye Surgery PatientNovember 2020
Joanne decided to get laser eye surgery for two main reasons, firstly she has two young children and was tired of them knocking her glasses off. Secondly, in her job as a Police Officer she felt that not having to rely on her glasses would make a huge difference in her role.
Having attended the clinic during the coronavirus pandemic Joanne was impressed by the safety measures in place and explained that the additional protocols within the clinic made her ‘feel at ease’.
Talking about the surgery she detailed that ‘I don’t know what I was expecting. I was nervous that it wasn’t going to work. I was nervous that it was going to take a few days for me to be able to see better but I literally went home yesterday and after a sleep, I could see pretty clearly…My eyes have been great.’ Joanne described that she can now see more clearly than she has been able to for the last 4 years.
Some of the main differences Joanne was looking forward to after her laser eye surgery were being able to do exercise and run around and play with her children without her requiring her glasses.
Joanne was never a fan of contact lenses and only wore them when she was going on a night out. Now, knowing that she doesn’t have to worry about her contact lenses on her next night out is a massive relief.
Joanne also expressed how the staff and her surgeon were extremely friendly which made her feel calm ahead of her surgery. ‘The staff have been great from start to finish.’ The short lead time she experienced and the convenience of the surgery is why Joanne will ‘definitely recommend’ Optical Express to her friends and family.
